Lockheed L1011 Tristar aircraft photo (No.101)

Seen during a sales proving flight is this Eastern Airlines registered Lockheed Tristar airliner. It was temporarily re-liveried in British European Airways livery (BEA) while being demonstrated in the UK. British Airways would go on to order examples of the Tristar. This aircraft was the first L1011 that flew into Manchester airport in the early 1970s - apparently I was in a pram in the garden when it flew over.

I am always on the look-out for fab old photos like this Lockheed L1011 Tristar image shown above. If you have any photographs that you think would fit in well here, please please get in touch. Photos of aircraft, whether military or civilian, of other L1011 Tristars or different Lockheeds, are all keenly sought, thanks! So long as it has an aviation theme to it, I'll put it on here. Please drop me a line via the contact page if you have anything suitable to share. The rest of Dave's airplane photographs from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s can be found on this page.
