Aviation Images
Back to the Old Photos section
On this page are photographs that Dave Trutzenbach kindly sent over, all taken in the post-war years 1940s through to the 1970s. Some of the aircraft shown were at RAF airfields, others seen at airshows, mostly in the UK but also (featuring Concorde) in Paris.
The variety of aircraft is staggering - everything from old favourites such as the Spitfire, Lancaster, Hawker Hunter and Avro Vulcan, to real rarities such as the prototype Concorde, Boeing KB50, Fairchild Argus and C119, Lockheed Constellation (the "connie"), Short Seamew and Saab Viggen.
Some of the photos are a little faded now, but still capture something of the event at which they were taken. Many of the aeroplanes shown no longer exist, either in flying or museum condition, so any chance to see what they looked like back when they were current, is fantastic.
Big thanks to Dave for collating all his pics, and posting the CD to me from the USA, where he now lives.
